The 2020 New Year Welcome Ceremony of the Complex Network Science and Intelligent Systems Laboratory was held at Fudan University

On September 15, 2020, the 2020 New Year Welcome Ceremony of the Complex Network Science and Intelligent Systems Laboratory was held in the 4th-floor conference room of the Computing Center at Fudan University.


 

The meeting was hosted by Yang Chao. First, the new and old members of the Complex Network Science and Intelligent Systems Laboratory introduced themselves and shared their goals for the future. Professor Han Dingding, the head of the laboratory, provided comments and encouragement for each of the members. She also briefly outlined the progress of ongoing projects and the main goals for the future.

 


   

Zhao Kaidi


Zhao Kaidi expressed that Professor Han’s guidance was like a spring breeze and hoped that all team members would work together to overcome challenges and share in the success. Professor Han praised him for his outstanding performance in the field of big data.


      

Yang Zhengzhuang


Yang Zhengzhuang, from Qingyang, Gansu, thanked Professor Han for her guidance throughout the year. He mentioned that joining Professor Han's research group had taught him many new skills and expressed hope that his fellow lab members would continue to listen to Professor Han’s teachings. Professor Han highly praised Yang Zhengzhuang for his proactive attitude and fast feedback.


   

Xu Mingyue


Xu Mingyue, from Dalian, Liaoning, shared that when she first joined Professor Han’s group, she was quite inexperienced. However, after a year of guidance, she had learned a lot and looked forward to many more results from the lab in the future. Professor Han praised Xu Mingyue for her excellent performance at conferences and reports, noting her rapid growth and exceptional progress.



         

Hu Baiqiang


Hu Baiqiang, from Linyi, Shandong, is a new doctoral student. He expressed his desire to read more literature and publish papers. Professor Han praised him for his courage to break out of his comfort zone, transitioning from optical-electronic engineering to new areas. She hoped Hu Baiqiang would lead other students in independent tasks and play a key role in applying for new projects in the future.


   

Zhi Huiyu


Zhi Huiyu, from Chengde, Hebei, as a new member, expressed how honored she was to join Professor Han's research group. She hoped to quickly integrate into the team and approach research with a happy mindset. Professor Han highly praised Zhi Huiyu’s ability to present through PowerPoint and mentioned that students who join the lab are typically well-grounded and have bright prospects based on past success.


    

Zhang Xihou


Zhang Xihou, a new member of the lab, felt honored to join Professor Han's research group. He hoped for constructive criticism and guidance from Professor Han and expressed a desire to learn and progress with his fellow lab members. Professor Han inquired about the office situation for the new students, suggesting that in the future, student desks might be arranged in the Genetics Building.


      

Chen Zhuoran


Chen Zhuoran, from Ningbo, Zhejiang, a graduate of Fudan University, joined the lab this year. He hoped to be inspired by the school's motto “Be scholarly and determined, seek knowledge and think deeply." Professor Han noted that Chen Zhuoran was an outstanding graduate, working diligently in every area. She also inquired about his daily life and suggested that he visit other nearby universities during weekends or free time.


     

Yang Chao


Yang Chao, though officially joining the lab this year, had already become familiar with the group and Professor Han through various collaboration activities between East China Normal University and Fudan University. He expressed that, although he may not be the most outstanding student, Professor Han is his most respected teacher, and he hopes to make the most of his youth. Professor Han commended Chen Zhuoran for handling difficult questions during the interview, demonstrating a solid foundation, and hoped he would continue to progress over the next three years.


    

Zhang Jinxin


Zhang Jinxin, from Nantong, Zhejiang, expressed that as a new member of the lab, he was still in a state of uncertainty. He acknowledged that there was much to learn and vowed to speed up his learning process, hoping to make contributions to the lab and projects. Professor Han encouraged him to leverage his unique traits and quickly integrate into the team. She observed that while he is resilient, he needs to improve his initiative and hoped for further growth in the future.
